Below we will describe two different routes from Thessaloniki to go Nikiti. Both are equal in distance, but one which is short and the other which is very picturesque. We however prefer what graphic through Poligiros

1) Thessaloniki Poligiros Nikiti 97 km around 1:40

From the center of Thessaloniki (or the District) follow the K. Karamanlis (old name :New Egnatia) by the end of from where begins the highway to Halkidiki. Immediately after the mall "Mediterranean Cosmos" and the "Magic Park" turn to Thermi (overpass). Follow the road to Galatista who wants a little attention because is old and narrow.
Generally the road is good (except the part Thessaloniki - Galatista) with a very nice landscape. The distance to Poligiros is just 50 kilometers and takes about 40 minutes. Halfway through and going to a village Cholomonta Agios Prodromos which is famous for souvlaki. You must make a stop for lunch and to drink water from the source located in the village. If I do not want to go in the village, after the intersection of Agios Prodromos in Poligiros and 2-3 km you will find two restaurants. We prefer the second which has very good kebabs and other traditional dishes at cheap prices (family of 4 typically pay 30-35 €) and very good service and are equally beautiful and the environment.
Poligiros is the Holy Forerunner 15 minutes and the journey despite the speed is very pleasant and lush mountain environment. The city of Poligiros least in the center maintains a color from the old days with beautiful mansions and cafes in the pedestrian zone. Thessaloniki Day 1 Berlin

With EasyJet flying directly from Thessaloniki to Berlin and we left 2 hours and something we got to the airport Sconefeld. While traveling for the first time with low cost company can not say that we had major problems . However, the total cost of tickets which we hold in January rose significantly since we bought the service speedy boarding due to the children who seemed particularly useful in the return flight had a lot of people.
The airport in Berlin is not the best in the world, but as I saw and was told, in the same area made the new airport when it started its operation will be shut down everything else in Berlin (the Templetonpf already closed and the same will happen to Tegel in about two years).
We received the car we rented and we started of Dresden and was the first time driving abroad. In my main equipment included GPS and made sure to buy before leaving for Greece and found the best assistant in my journey. The Dresden is about 180 km from the airport and my first impression was that show respect for all vehicles to cyclists who have a high priority on the roads. Once we left the highway we found that although the German drivers are far more typical than the Greeks did not comply with da religiously speed limits. This area is convenient for a stay and is just 5 minutes walk from the main train station.

Second day Dresden
Walk down Pragger Strasse encounter many famous shopping malls (C & A, Carl strand, etc.) and is the final stage of construction and a really huge mall that occupies 3 or four blocks of the German press. And I say to the German press because the building. Squares of Germany has nothing to do with what size of Greece. But I would not recommend anyone to spend time to trade and has a lot to do in the city and begin:

You will definitely find there a band playing classical music and street musicians playing local instruments was first seen.

Something that I should do a tour is certainly one of the barges on the river Elbe. We opted to do the tour with one of the oldest canal in the region, which departs at 15.00 and 9,11,13.00 every day and the cost is 12 € per person. The boat reaches the city Piplitc while in all the way to admire the infinite beauty of nature and the beautiful old castles and villas that are aligned with the landscape. Also very impressive are the old bridges that surround the river. The trip takes 1.30 hours.
In the evening the old city illuminated that I need a visit to the gardens of Zinger (museum) and of course the building of the opera from a balcony has lovely views over the river bridge and the Japanese Palace. Just ahead is a fantastic restaurant caféé (Tarachen) which has a balcony over the river where you can enjoy your drink in admittedly somewhat stung price. This side of town especially at night remind cinematic scene with blackened buildings (built again after the bombings of Americans in World War II). The night ended our ride across the Elbe where we pass the magnificent old-style bridge that connects the two sides.

Third day Dresden - Berlin
As I said in about two hours, amid torrential rain and with the help of GPS we reached the hotel Seifelt located at a central point of Berlin near the most central shopping street Kudam. The area is very convenient for transportation of 5 minutes from Central Station and ten from the Europa Center. Our first impression was not the best one and returned from a picturesque city like Dresden. Of course the western part and especially the area we were not to offer something special to everyone. But the day really facts we denied. Let's go back but then it's our third day. The first visit we were in the hollow tooth that is a church that was partly demolished by the bombing and Berliners as the left has to remind the future generations that can destroy a person in seconds. The area reminded us a bit of Egnatia Street and Vardar region of Thessaloniki, the night together "strange world" but in no way feel unsafe. Due to fatigue our next stop was the Europa Center, which this time was closed and we are not particularly excited except the huge pendulum in the center of the trade that works with the flow of liquids.
What we propose
• Hotel Seifelt is a central location with good transportation and a good restaurant on the ground floor has a Greek owner. But you should know that the hotel seemed more pension and not 3 star as indicated in booking.com. But it is clean, large rooms and great breakfast.
• As the first day we recommend a ride on the bus 100 N. circular route that makes all the best places in Berlin to be the ticket costs 2.10 € per journey (which unfortunately we did the first day)

Fourth day Berlin - Potsdam
The Potsdam is a small town just 30 km from Berlin. What you will see in the area of the green starts with the coming out of the city (by car). The landscape before you reach the town is great with rivers and lakes. Once we got into the city we saw a big square with a beautiful scenic street. Shortly after we visited a large arch that was the style of the arch of the Brandenburg. Shortly after we saw the beautiful graphics and very old houses. The Potsdam was a beautiful city and quite picturesque.

Returning to Berlin park the car in one of the many outdoor parking in the area of Philarmonie. The building Philarmonie although it is great there is nothing special as it is externally covered with scaly decorative metal. Internally, however, is a magic with the circular structure and the space to place the orchestra (in the center of the room). On the edge of the building there is a museum with musical instruments that will delight anyone who deals with music and more. The most striking instrument is a church which is considered one of the largest and as you said a professor at the University of Berlin, which originates from Trikala and we were fortunate to encounter in space, is built along the lines of ancient Greek courts. Shortly after we visited the Sony Center at Potsdamer Potsdamer strasse (has a small piece of the wall) is very close to Philarmonie. This is an impressive building with stunning roof yet what the open space created by buildings. In the area there are movies (4D), a Lego land restaurants and of course a branch of Sony.
Since that day we decided to xepodariastoume started for the Brandenburg Gate, which seemed very close but unfortunately no eta. Before reaching the gate we went through the Jewish Holocaust Memorial, which consists of marble blocks of different sizes placed in a large area and cause a real spectacle that causes your thoughts. At the edge of the monument is the museum which was not visited because of tiredness .. Immediately after the stunning Brandenburg Gate, which separates the two huge street 16 June and the Under De Linden (the way the lindens). The place was full of tourists and all sorts of kitsch (for our criteria) activities dressed as some German and American soldiers. Generally the whole area of the Under de Linden is what tourist area. After more back to the hotel and prepare for the night out that included dinner in the Jewish Quarter and the square hagenmarkt. Park the car (after the 8.00 parking is free in municipal parking lots) behind the red town hall. The region there is amazing but I'll mention below, since the other day we visited. Admittedly we left the car far away and walked one as the Jewish quarter over 20 minutes. But when we reached the square was filled with youth groups and was full of life. Everywhere jugglers and artists can imagine. Must be a party to the Berlin sleep really late.

November months one month and not very convenient (since the beginning of winter) but due to holiday commitments of children we planned trip to Belgium. Specifically, our destination was a small town on the northern border of Belgium with France called Tournai.
H Tournai is one of the oldest cities in Belgium and is just one hour from Brussels (by car) arrives in town by a very good road network.
The town lies 20 km west of the French city of Lille and counts 50000 inhabitants who are all one and the Francophone region is the center of Walloon. The charm of it is what creates positive impressions to the traveler. All roads in the city, which is constantly renovated, is paved and surrounded by traditional buildings that are as beautiful decorative details and review and make many different wind vanes located on the roofs of some buildings.

What to see

Grand Place The central square of Tournai is the focal point of the city. From one of the many cafes and restaurants can one overlooks the tower, the Cloth Hall and many other beautiful buildings around the square.
Belfry of Tournai is located between the "Grand Place" and the cathedral, and is the oldest in Belgium. The restaurant Beffroi de Tournai (main square) you can taste some local specialties, of course if we can agree with the waiters who unfortunately did not speak English
Are there physical and all known fast food chains in the malls at the city entrance.
Fries with different dressing in one of the many shops located throughout the city.

The cars can park in the center of the square spoiling the lovely views across

Overall Impressions

We consider it worthwhile to visit some of the provincial and city people-that which is truly a "doll" and knows how to combine and to respect the past and the present. The country's history (architecture, religion, etc.) is concentrated. It is also a point for excursions to the French north. Beer lovers should not ignore the region since in this produced a large number of chips

The new Acropolis museum is just amazing. The exhibits highlight the best and should calculate at least three hours to stroll the grounds. The top floor is a small copy of the exterior of the Parthenon while in the second floor is a café with spectacular views of the Acropolis

Acropolis - Odeon of Herodes Atticus
To complete the tour of our Ancient Greece we visited the Acropolis, the pedestrian street of Herodes Atticus.
In the area visited and other antiquities such as the Roman column of winds, the Erechtheion and we got to the area Metaxourgeio. Actually, however, the distance is tiring, but worth the effort. In the evening we returned to the area and went to Plaka and the traditional market Monastiraki. There are numerous cafes and restaurants and if you look more closely into the small will find wonderful restaurants next to antiquities

Third day.
THE BUILDING OF THE GREEK PARLIAMENT Meet the inside, and documents one of the most emblematic buildings in Athens and political history. Architectural drawings, photographs, documents, personal belongings of the occupants, film material.
Panathenaic Stadium and NATIONAL GARDEN
After the Parliament building is the National Garden which leads to the Hall. The area is one of the most beautiful city and deserves to spend a few hours to visit.
The same evening we went to the Lycabettus hill from which one can view the whole of Athens. Specifically, to climb the hill used the lift (6 € the anode and cathode) which led us to the top where the church of St. George. We believe that the best time is during the time of sunset. On the hill there is a coffee but is too expensive.

Fourth day.

As it is mentioned before in other article of blog , Nikiti Halkidiki's it is a ideal place for summer interruptions so much for families and also for young persons. the all reconstruction exist near very good coasts that offer their dark blue waters in lucky that will visit him. Thessaloniki Berlin day 1

With EasyJet flying directly from Thessaloniki to Berlin and we left 2 hours , we got to the airport Sconefeld. While travel for the first time with low cost company, I can not say that we had major problems. However, the total cost of tickets which we hold in January rose significantly since we bought the service speedy boarding consequential children which seemed particularly relevant in the return flight had a lot of people.
The airport in Berlin is not the best in the world, but as I saw and was told me, in the same area construct the new airport when it started its operation will be closed all other Berlin (the Templetonpf already closed and the same will happen to Tegel in about two years).

Third day Dresden - Berlin
As I said in about two hours, amid torrential rain and with the help of GPS we reached the hotel Seifelt located in the center of western Berlin near the main shopping street Kudam. The area is very convenient for the movement of a 5 minutes from the central station and ten from the Europa Center. Our first impression was not the best one and returned from a picturesque city like Dresden. Of course the western part, especially the area we were not to offer something special to the tourists. But the day really the facts we denied. Let's go back but then our third day. The first visit we were in the hollow tooth is a church that collapsed in part by the bombing and Berliners as the left has to remind future generations that can destroy a man in seconds. The area reminded us a bit of street and area Vardaros Egnatia in Thessaloniki, the night together "strange world" but in no way feel insecure. Fourth day in Berlin - Potsdam
The Potsdam is a small town just 30 km from Berlin. What will you see in the area since the beginning of the green that comes out of the city (by car). The landscape before you reach the city is amazing with rivers and lakes. When we went into the city we saw a big square with a beautiful scenic footpath. Immediately after we visited a large arch that was the style of the apse of Brandenburg. Once we saw the beautiful graphics and very old houses. The Potsdam was a beautiful city and quite scenic.

Returning to Berlin park your car in one of the many outdoor parking in the area of Philarmonie. The building Philarmonie although it is great there is nothing special and is an outside covered with scaly decorative metal. Internally, however, is a magic circular structure and the space to place the orchestra (at the center of the room). On the edge of the building there is a museum with musical instruments which will delight anyone who deals with music and beyond. The most striking instrument is a church which is considered one of the largest and as you said a professor at the University of Berlin comes from Trikala and we were fortunate to find space, is built along the lines of ancient Greek courtyard. Immediately after we visited the Sony Center on the square Potsdamer strasse (has a small piece of the wall) is very close to Philarmonie. This is an impressive building complex yet most impressive roof of open space created by buildings. In the area there are movies (4D), a Lego land restaurants and of course a branch of Sony.

Day 1 Piraeus - Chania by ferry
The afternoon we arrived at Piraeus and boarded the ship which had closed cabin. Like all ships, and so it was very salty and a price closed cabin after traveling with children (and cars)

The hotel located in the center of Platanias, was hospitable and privileged part provide basic services.The price however was very good. The tourist area especially with many restaurants and bars provide many options for night-life. The beach it is organized with umbrellas, but not very clean.

Day 3 mountains Chania - Floria
Climbing to the mountains of Chania, where we hosted by our friends in a village with only 15 residents The village called Floria. The road is steep but with good speed and drive through the village Kandanos on the south side of the island to Paleochora The landscape and the wild but enchanting journey.. after villages Voukolies and Kakopetros begins the forest and ravines. Village Flora is almost on the "neck" of the mountain and there is a square trees and a cafe where a stop for a rest is necessary for those traveling to or from Paleochora. Alsothere is a monument in memory of German soldiers who died during the occupation.

4th days Kandanos Flora Paleochora

Floria is about half an hour from Paleochora is the largest southern port of Crete. The landscape is wild but magnificent where the village is tourism development efforts. The beaches to the right side of the village is quite good while to get somewhat out will find some other very quiet beaches. . In the center of the village there are lot of restaurants but we recommend the restaurants that are at the center of Kantanos (near church), which all offer excellent local cuisine. 5th days Elafonissi

From Floria began to Elafonisi located southwest of the island. The road from that side through the woods while the usual path followed by someone from Chania Kissamos Platanias is through. There are several beaches in the area that will certainly compensate. From Chania with the local bus we started at 6.00 oclock in the morning for the Samaria Gorge. The bus arrived after 1 hour and something in Omalo and where is the entrance to the gorge.

The street afterward the bridge (tolls roughly 10,15€) is very good and is continued with tunnel after Patras. Thessalonici - Kastania - Monastery "Panagia Soumela
